Mike Peter
MANAGING PRINCIPAL
Mike Peter has been developing commercial and residential spaces for more than 15 years. He has experience in all facets of financing structures and has performed in over $400 million of direct asset development.
Mike has spearheaded the revitalization of Omaha’s Blackstone District, including the development of ground-up Class A residential and retail space. He was one of the principals behind the restoration of the historic Blackstone (now Kimpton Cottonwood) Hotel. In addition to his work in the Blackston District, Mike has also developed and built affordable housing and Class A office space.
Mike is focused on a vertically integrated business model in an effort to bring the highest and best use to every square foot of real estate he develops.
Zach Reinhardt
PRINCIPAL & PRESIDENT OF REAL ESTATE
Zach Reinhardt is the President of Real Estate for 1854 Development, where he leverages over 10 years of experience in commercial real estate, including valuation, banking, acquisitions, development, and brokerage, to create exceptional living experiences. With a B.S. in Business Administration - Real Estate and Land Use Economics from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Zach has been involved in developing more than 500 units, totaling over $100 million in project costs. His approach goes beyond merely building apartments; he focuses on designing and building homes that serve as sanctuaries from the hustle and bustle of the everyday. Zach has extensive experience in all phases of development, from concept creation to project completion, and has a deep commitment to improving the community where he lives and works.
Zach has called Omaha home for over 20 years and currently represents District 4 on the Metropolitan Community College Board of Governors, working to ensure the college makes good on its mission "to deliver relevant, student-centered education to a diverse community of learners."
Grant Barges
PRINCIPAL & DIRECTOR OF FINANCE + OPERATIONS
Grant serves as the Director of Finance and Operations at 1854 Development. A lifelong resident of Omaha, Grant graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and completed his MBA there in 2019. After beginning his career as a public tax accountant at KPMG, he found his passion for private accounting, and has since played a pivotal role in starting and growing multiple businesses. Grant is dedicated to helping businesses understand the financial intricacies of their operations, offering expertise in budgeting, forecasting, bookkeeping, financial modeling, reporting, and analysis.
